A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACCOUNTANT
As an accountant, you will assist with executing and recording daily cash transactions, including initiating or approving wire transfers, voiding checks, issuing stop payments, and clearing checks. You will reconcile all cooperative bank accounts monthly. You will assist the CFO and all departments in Capital and Expense budget preparation, review, budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation.
You will maintain plant and property records and perform work order audits as requested. Serve as the administrator of the Cooperative’s accounts payable software and manage payable workflows.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACCOUNTANT
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. A Masters degree in Accounting with a CPA license is preferred.
3+ years of experience with accounting or other related utility functions.
Experience with audit, financial and internal control reporting requirements.
Electric utility and/or Cooperative accounting experience preferred, but not required.
