The Junior Accountant is a critical member of the Accounting and Finance team, primarily responsible for supporting the Staff Accountant and Controller in a variety of corporate accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and the month end close process. An ideal candidate in this position will possess the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team. Primary Responsibilities

Assist in executing month-end close procedures and monthly reporting
Prepare account reconciliations including multiple cash accounts, credit card transactions, and monthly expenses within Expensify.
Prepare monthly journal entries, which include proper supporting documentation
Take ownership of daily Bill.com payable processing and synchronization with accounting software
Record payroll invoices and reconcile for multiple entities
Take ownership of fixed asset tracking and accounting
Assist in preparing for annual audit and tax returns
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial completeness and accuracy
Complete other projects/tasks as assigned

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience
3+ years of accounting/finance experience. Startup experience is a plus.
Experience with NetSuite is a must. In addition, should possess advanced Excel skills including pivot tables. Familiarity with Bill.com and Expensify a plus.
Thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills are critical.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, written communication skills, and active listening abilities.
Basic understanding of health insurance and health insurance terms is preferred, but not required.
