The Department is responsible for accounting and reporting functions related to subsidiary accounting operations. This includes booking journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, assisting with licensing deliverables and annual external audits. In addition, the group is called on for ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed by Senior Management.
Specific job responsibilities include preparing accounting entries, initiating daily payments to clients, reconciling general ledger accounts and reconciling daily cash activity from the bank to general ledger. The incumbent is responsible for preparing ad hoc reports as required for licensing and audit requests from various states and assisting with internal and external audits. This job requires flexibility in work hours and mandatory overtime during peak periods. Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Reconciliations
Responsible for all cash general ledger reconciliations, ensuring timely completion and clearing of open items
Perform daily cash reconciliations for key accounts
2. General Ledger Support
Responsible for booking of cash related general ledger entries
3. Reporting
Assist with preparation of monthly reporting
Assist with preparation of the Annual Audited Financial Statements
Assist in the preparation of other regulatory reporting
4. Daily Remittances
Function as initiator for: wire transfers, ACH’s, check requests, etc.
5. Project Work
Assist and/or execute on various projects as requested by management
Assist in the set-up of the bank including: procedures, policy, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
This position will support a federal government contract. Applicants must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance as required of federal government contractors to include a background check conducted by the U.S. Government to determine eligibility and suitability for federal contract employment for public trust or sensitive positions. For this level of clearance, applicants must possess U.S. citizenship.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
Up to 2 years general accounting experience including reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries
