Shawnee Health Service is seeking an Accountant for our Shawnee Health Service, Carterville office.
Responsibilities
Cash Management
Account Reconciliations
Assist Accounts Payable
Maintain Program Budgets
Prepare Fiscal Reports
Perform Annual Audit Functions
Assist with Payroll Processing
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
Experience in an accounting related field preferred.

Starting salary: $51,000 per year (higher with relevant experience) with a 3% increase upon successful completion of the new hire probationary period
Full-time employee benefits include:
12 vacation days earned in the first year
11 paid personal days/holidays per calendar year
6 sick days earned per year
Retirement plan with 3% company contribution after becoming eligible in the plan (a matching contribution by the employee is not required to receive this benefit). Additional profit-sharing contributions to the retirement plan are possible. Employee deferrals to the 401(k) and Roth plan available
Health and dental insurance with employer contribution
$50,000 in life insurance at no cost to the employee
Company provided long-term disability insurance at no cost to the employee
Other supplemental insurance policies available for purchase by the employee
COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory condition of employment. Absent an approved exemption/accommodation, all employees must be fully vaccinated by receiving both doses of a two-dose vaccine series (Pfizer or Moderna) or one dose of the single-dose vaccine (Janssen) at least fourteen (14) days prior to or on their first day of work. If not already vaccinated, new hires cannot begin work until they: (1) are fourteen (14) days post one dose of the single-dose vaccine (Janssen); (2) are fourteen (14) days post second dose of a two-dose vaccine series (Pfizer or Moderna); or (3) receive an approved exemption/accommodation. Employees who refuse COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with this mandate absent an approved exemption/accommodation will be considered to have voluntarily resigned from employment or, if an individual has not yet started employment, their offer of employment will be withdrawn. Shawnee Health Service reserves the right to not offer employment to unvaccinated individuals if staffing needs cannot accommodate a delayed start date
