Job Summary and Qualifications
As an Accountant, you will compile, process, and analyze financial information. You will prepare financial reports and schedules, maintain records, prepare reconciliations of accounts, coordinate the annual budget process, assist in audit preparation, provide month end statistics and data, and be responsible for fixed assets and sales tax information.
You will process journal vouchers, attach supporting documentation, and indicate sources and calculations used
You will analyze monthly budget variances and prepare a summary analysis
You will ensure that financial reports accurately reflect operational results and provide supporting schedules
You will update and reconcile schedules monthly, and reconcile asset and liability accounts
You will complete work papers and reconcile them prior to audits, and will answer any questions raised during audits
You will prepare information packages to be used in the annual budget process
You will review fixed assets, reconcile the fixed asset ledger, and prepare related reports
You will gather sales tax information, prepare monthly sales tax returns, and reconcile sales tax liability
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelors Degree
1 year of healthcare accounting experience – preferred
St. David’s Medical Center is a full-service hospital located in central Austin, Texas. This 300+ bed facility features a 24-hour emergency department, the region’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and the internationally-renowned Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Institute and St. David’s Neuroscience & Spine Institute. The full scope of services provided at St. David’s Medical Center includes cancer care, heart and vascular care, imaging services, joint replacement and orthopedics, women’s services, complex surgical services, and a Bariatric Surgery Center. The facility is home to a 60+ bed rehabilitation hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient comprehensive care.
