Lubrizol is currently looking for an Accountant to join our Operations Accounting team. As an integral part of our business function, you would be responsible for providing accurate valuation of product cost, inventory, and our fixed assets. You would also provide governance of cost accounting and capital accounting policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Utilize knowledge of product costing and US GAAP to ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales revenue, cost of sales and inventory transactions
Promote the proper use and understanding of the standard cost system
Support management teams on manufacturing cost, inventory, and capital reporting
Support the closing of capital projects to fixed assets at various plant locations
Reconcile appropriate accounts in a timely and accurate manner
Interface with business, finance, operations analysis, and manufacturing personnel at the plant and corporate level
Assist plant controllers on an as needed basis, including working at plant locations when necessary
Responsible for monthly closing activities, including account balance analysis, variance analysis, and general ledger postings
Perform ad hoc analysis as required
Drive improvements in productivity, EBIT, inventory reductions and free cash flow
Work safely and encourage a safe work environment
Comply with all Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Travel up to 10% to Brecksville to support LZAM Businesses
Travel up to 5% domestically
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience
Strong systems understanding of SAP & BOBJ
Ability to travel as required
