Job Description : Overview:

The Accountant Senior position supports Baptist Health Care accounting functions, to include but not limited to month end and year end close process, general ledger balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, bank account reconciliations, audit preparation assistance, journal entry preparation, and financial statement preparation.
The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with preference given to an Accounting degree
Minimum of two (2) years related work experience, preferably in healthcare
Must have working knowledge of Accounting principles, account reconciliations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Products
Must have thorough working knowledge of GAAP, full working knowledge of budget preparation, financial statement preparation, bank reconciliations, and other analytical processes
Must be willing to adjust personal schedule to meet division objectives and have the ability to work independently and easily transition to cover and fill as needed
Experience with Lawson or Oracle ERP systems is a plus
Strong verbal and written communciations skills are vital for the success of this position
