Job Description : Rothco is looking for an Accounting Associate to join its team. The Accounting Associate will primarily be responsible with month end close process and helping the Controller and CFO provide day to day guidance to the department. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with ability to work efficiently with minimal errors.Job Duties: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist with month end close processMaintain, analyze and reconcile general ledgerPrepare general ledger entries and maintain supporting documentsCreate and document accounting policies and proceduresInteract and provide support to third party professionals with regard to audit and tax preparationCalculate monthly freight rebate and sales commission reportsAssist with managing day to day operations of accounting department (accounts payable, billing, credit and collections, accounts receivable)Learn billing, payables and receivables functions and provide as back upEnsure effective internal controls are in place and maintain compliance with US GAAPAssist with conversion of ERP systemsPerform other ad hoc dutiesQualifications/SkillsAssociates degree in business, accounting or finance or combined equivalent of education and experience.Prior knowledge and experience within an Accounting/Finance group specifically in Accounts Receivable and collection’s function.Ability to work with all groups within the organization.Must be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision.Ability to multi-task and work efficiently.Analytical approach to problem solving.Ability to manipulate large amounts of dataWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office and Accounting/Finance systemsJob Type: Full-timePay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:Proof of Covid-19 Vaccine required.Work Location: One location
