Job Description : Introduction: Our client, an established and successful St. Charles County multi-facility recreational and hospitality service business is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Controller to plan, direct and coordinate the financial, accounting, and administrative activities for multiple golf facilities. If you enjoy and seek responsibility, variety, accountability and recognition for your work and contributions, then this is the opportunity for you.Job Description: Responsibilities include:Implements and adheres to policies and procedures for the Accounting function, including compliance of all company accounting standards.Oversees accounting and administrative controls to safeguard the assets of the company by reducing theft as well as internal fraud.Assists General Manager in preparing and monitoring annual budget, monitoring revenue goals as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) business volume forecasts.Monitors and coordinates property plans of overall future objectives, including projection of revenue, cost, net income, cash position, cash management, and capital requirements.Partner with General Manager on strategic planning, in depth analysis, ROI calculations and special projects as needed.Prepares and submits monthly financial statements and supporting schedules that identify actual, budget, variance and over/under based on the plan.Provide ad hoc reporting and/or in depth analysis as needed to support operations.Performs or monitors revenue audits for revenue generating departments (i.e. Golf, Food & Beverage, etc.).Analyzes various accounting reports such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, various general ledger and monthly financial statements.Monitors and manages property cash flow and coordinates the appropriate timing of issuing payment to vendors. Alerts General Manager and Regional Controller when cash flow problems exist.Prepares, coordinates and reviews the closing of year-end books.Recommends to management the implementation of policies, procedures, processes and controls based on continual analysis of current accounting processes.Establishes accounting protocols and work flows for the property based on property needs, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Monitors contracts with facility’s vendors.Ensures collection and payment of applicable local, state, and federal taxes. Prepares or reviews preparation of monthly tax reports.Manages both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to include but not limited to: processing invoices, preparing statements, making payments, collections, reconciliation, and record keeping.Reconciles and audits petty cash, general bank account and cash banks.Performs other duties as required.Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting required and a MBA would be a plus.Skills/Strengths: Strong computer skills.Attention to detail with a high degree of financial accuracy.Analytical.Strong organizational skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Good team leader and player.Experience: 5+ years of accounting management experience; experience in the hospitality/recreational industry would be a plus, club experience would be preferred.Strong MS Office competence, specifically Excel and Word.Experience with Jonas POS/Accounting software program a plus.Managing multiple priorities and job demands.OtherMust be US work authorized.Must be able to pass a background and drug screen check.No relocation available for position.Job Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:GAAP: 5 years (Required)Accounting: 5 years (Required)Language:English (Required)Work Location: One location
