As the Head of Accounting, you’ll be the head of our corporate accounting function, responsible for financial accounting, local treasury topics, variances, and tax (this includes A/P, A/R, General Ledger, Asset Management, Tax, mid-year and year-end closing) for our industrial plant with over $500M in assets.
Responsibilities
Ensure completion of all accounting reconciliation activities (general ledger, asset management, A/P, A/R, Balance Sheet) in accordance with legal requirements, ensure supporting documents are available and assist CFO
Grant and incentive recognition, foreign vendor business reporting, employee defined benefit plan reporting, tax provision, inventory revaluations and foreign currency revaluation adjustments
Ensure all leases are recorded in accordance with IFRS 16 leasing standards
Collaborate with Shared Services Team located in Argentina to ensure the accuracy of posting vendor invoices and cash application.
Lead your accounting team of 3, ensure the team has the appropriate professional qualifications, and implement measures to help your team continuously improve their knowledge
Perform local treasury activities, like payment runs, manual check payments, short-term cash disposition, local payments, local banking relations and documentation, credit cards, etc.
Develop and maintain best practice Accounting procedures (with support of Group headquarters) at the local level, and supervise accounting procedures using SAP
Qualifications
BS degree in Accounting or Finance
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases – SAP preferred
Experience with tax engines helpful – Vertex
Willingness to travel occasionally, both international and domestically for meetings and training
