The successful Accounting Manager candidate will be a highly intelligent, ambitious, self-starter with a positive attitude and team-oriented mentality. The successful candidate will work with the Accounting Director and Controller and be exposed to a wide range of Accounting issues and opportunities in a high-growth and fast-paced consumer technology company.

Job Description

Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Support Accounts Payable/Receivable with day-to-day accounting operations.
Maintain proper existing accounting policies and principles and establish new policies as needed.
Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems, and procedures increase accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor general ledger activities and ensure account reconciliations.
Monitor, compile and analyze accounting data.
Support in inventory control for costing and reconciliation procedures.
Coordinate and support in annual audits.
Support the administration of SAP by Design accounting system and initiate corrective user and system actions.
Support in US sales tax and international VAT accuracy and compliance.
Collaborate with external audit/tax partners for tax compliance.
Support in development of Ember’s new Health and HK entities with new requirements, accounting transactions and procedures.
Review daily bank activities and general ledger.
Support with special projects, ad hoc analysis, and workflow process improvements.
Ensure proper transactions for non-standard accounting for equity and debt.

Requirements

BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
4-6 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proven experience as an accountant or as an auditor.
Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
Experienced working in startup environment preferred.
CPA preferred
