Job Description : Accounting Manager – Corporate Accounting
Education/Certificates:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of ten years of accounting experience.
Minimum of two years of experience in a leadership position and in managing a staff.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Must have technical experience with an accounting system and reporting.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong analytical, attention to detail, organizational, time-management and problem solving skills.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong leadership and management skills; ability to direct a team.
Strong adherence to ethical standards including, but not limited to, the ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain fiduciary responsibility.
Ability to set, manage and meet goals and deadlines on a consistent basis.
Ability to exercise independent judgment.
Detail oriented; ability to manage conflicting priorities and to adjust priorities on a daily basis.
Essential Duties:
Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger.
Oversee the process of accounting consolidation (Adaptive Planning).
Oversee the process of accounting system for Corporate Accounting (SAGE).
Oversee the process of ExpenseWire system.
Approve and review vouchers/ journal entries for corporate entities.
Provide guidance to other departments concerning transactions related to corporate entities.
Prepare historical GAAP financial statements.
Prepare quarterly reporting package for investors and lenders.
Manage the accounting team to ensure all reporting deadlines are met and reports adhere to prescribe accounting principles.
Plan, assign and direct work to staff to ensure smooth and efficient workflow to achieve timely, complete and accurate reporting.
Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
Assist in development and implement new processes and procedures to enhance workflow of the department.
Respond to inquiries from various levels of management as well investors
Work with Audit Liasons to ensure smooth and timely year end audit
Conduct annual performance review of staff.
May interview and hire prospective employees and open to provide training.
Completes company required training by established deadline.
Complies with all Fairfield standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.
Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned.
