POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager position is an integral part of the operations of the company and will be responsible for a variety of administrative functions, including:
Working closely with the Division Manager and Project Managers on contract and subcontract administration.
Preparing monthly financial statements and management financial reports.
Preparing work papers and entries for month end close, sales tax reporting, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Perform daily cash management.
Preparing prequalification applications to bid on state and municipal projects and applying for bonding for projects.
Reviewing accounting processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and accuracy of transactions, with attention to proper internal controls.
Supervising office staff team members.
Manage the operational functionality of the ERP system to ensure data entered and utilized for reporting is complete and accurate.
Communicating with team members as to information requests and work flow needs.
Working with Human Resources and Payroll on payroll processing and payroll tax filings.
Ensuring that customers are provided with timely and accurate invoicing and assistance.
Coordinating with accounts payable to ensure proper allocation of expenditures and intercompany/divisional billings.
Work on special projects and prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
Assist in the preparation of workpapers and ad hoc request for the annual financial statement audits.
This position is full-time. It can be a fast-paced environment during our peak season and may require extended hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
An associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, or relevant prior work experience
Experience in accounts payable or accounting is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and high attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to multi-task and manage office staff
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the Office suite
Experience with computerized accounting software
