Job Description : Accounting Manager (hybrid) Tyson’s
The Accounting Manager is responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to
maintain the integrity of our and/or our client’s financial statements. Working under the direction of the
Sr. Accounting Manager, the Accounting Manager directs and coordinates the daily activities of the
accounting staff to record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of quickly and accurately
our and /or our clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage a team of accounting professionals, which will include Accountants, Revenue Accountants,
and Accounting Clerks.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations.
Ensure there are redundant process backups in place for all critical operations.
Maintain and enforce existing accounting policies and procedures.
Field questions and be a ready resource to members of the team.
Review annual budgets, providing feedback and clearing corrections, as necessary.
Review monthly financial statement packages as prepared by Property Accountants, providing
review comments, and clearing corrections, as necessary.
Serve as the main client point of contact for all accounting matters, communicating directives from
our clients to staff as needed. Review and approve owner distributions.
Review and approve all wire transfers for owner distributions, debt service payments, and other
wire disbursements, as necessary.
Provide cash management oversight, ensuring proper funding for all operating disbursements.
Ensure that all closing and reporting deadlines are met.
Ensure that Property Accountants are properly managing the payment and tracking of all Real Estate
Tax payments.
Review and approve annual Personal Property Tax Returns prepared by Property Accountants.
Review and approve annual BPOL tax returns prepared by Property Accountants.
Review and approve annual Income and Expense surveys prepared by Property Accountants
QUALIFICATIONS:
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Have a CPA designation.
Have exceptional leadership skills.
Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Have strong budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
Have 7+ years of Property Accounting experience in Commercial Property Management.
Have a strong working knowledge of MRI, Yardi, or similar accounting platform. Will train
Have a strong working knowledge of Nexus Payables or similar paperless invoice processing system.
Be very comfortable interfacing with 3rd party institutional clients.
Highly motivated self-starter with supervisory, review, and proofing experience
