What are we looking for in our next new hire?

Requirements: This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, and five or more years of accounting experience with analytical responsibilities. Prior experience in supervision and management of accounting staff with demonstrated capabilities in team-building. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; prior experience in presenting financial data. Excellent customer service. Demonstrated self-motivation for life-long learning.

Preferences: Five to seven years’ experience in corporate accounting or finance in healthcare. MBA or CPA desired. Strong understanding of industry trends and strategic direction. Demonstrated application of lean process improvement and/or continuous improvement principles.
What will you do?

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist Senior Accounting Manager in management of accounting team and business processes. Monitors proper recording of OSUP financial transactions, assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and following GASB guidance. Oversees the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Assists with month, quarter, and year end close activities. Implements process improvement activities in accounting business processes. Assists in development, training, and performance management of accounting team members.

Assist in managing accounting team under the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager
Apply performance management tools and guidelines
Build team capacity through professional development
Build team engagement through rewards and recognition and team-building
Promote accountability of team members
Communicate with team members, management, and customers
Assist in managing accounting operations and business processes
Oversee and review month-end and year-end reconciliation of accounts included in the balance sheets, statements of operation, cash flow and any other financial schedules of OSUP and related entities
Analyze month-end and year-end financial statements and identify sources of variance
Develop and monitor quality metrics related to delivery of accounting services
Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting business processes
Implement process and quality improvement projects by applying relevant tools and principles
Develop knowledge of tools and techniques related to data analysis and financial modeling and their application
Participate in process improvement projects as a subject matter expert
Collaborate with analytics partners to execute projects and process optimizations
Other duties or special projects as assigned.
