Job Description : Unbound is seeking to enable meaningful change in the world and we need an Accounting Manager to help us. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for maintaining the accounting general ledger and supporting documentation along with related activities as described below.Unbound accounting policies are consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for nonprofit organizations. As such, we utilize fund accounting with both restricted and unrestricted net assets.Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: This position has primary responsibility for the company general ledger. Maintains the accounting general ledger in Microsoft Dynamics, including preparation/review of journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly reporting of financial results.Manages our accounts payable process by utilizing Concur payables system.Works closely with other departments and our banking partners to facilitate and execute, on a monthly basis, disbursements to Unbound affiliated offices in 19 countries around the world.Reviews and approves (prepares as needed) Kansas Use Tax, Form 1099 and miscellaneous regulatory reporting.Facilitates annual audit to be performed by independent CPA firm. Prepares/provides documentation and information requested by the auditors.Supports and assists Director of Finance while providing leadership and support to accounting team consisting of 3-4 individuals.Provides support to other management and team members via accounting information, reporting, etc.Experience in Microsoft Dynamics, Crystal Report Writer, Excel and Word is preferred.Regular use of Unbound’s in-house data system, CASA. This skill will be taught to the selected candidate.Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Proven ability to assess and troubleshoot minor to semi-complex repairs and maintenance issues.Mechanical ability and knowledge of construction techniques.Strong learning orientation with an ability to understand and follow through on instructions.Reliable with a strong work ethic.Strong service mindset with an ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels in the organization.Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with emphasis in accounting from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Microsoft Dynamics, Crystal Report Writer, Excel and Word is preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation a strong plus.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
