About the Role
At Zeplin, we care about everything we do, from product development to bookkeeping. We know that it’s essential to have best practices in place in our day-to-day work.

As our Accounting Manager, you’ll be working in various areas, including but not limited to Accounts Payables and Receivables, Collections, and Corporate Tax. You will get a chance to collaborate with all teams at Zeplin and help improve our financial processes.

Responsibilities
Execute monthly accounting close activities (categorization of journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics, and reporting)
Align with business partners in the U.S. and the U.K. to assist with local reporting compliance
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as G/L, payroll documenting transactions
Responsible for the preparation of the various tax compliance filings for the organization in the U.S., including the timely preparation of tax extensions.
Identifies and manages the implementation of tax incentives including R&D tax credit
Research complex tax questions; support local and global projects from a tax perspective
Manage and maintain the tax calendar for tax filing obligations ensuring we are current on our filings.
Review tax filings and associated documentation created by payroll service providers and business partners to pay taxes on behalf of the company’s permanent and temporary employees
Coordinate with the payroll processing service provider to schedule the processing of payrolls, ensure the filing of federal, state, and local payroll returns for all locations within the U.S. and the U.K. and resolve any issues relating to payroll tax returns
Input all the required information needed to process payrolls
Responsible for training all new employees and managers in the timekeeping system and basics of paychecks and payroll policies and practices
Work side-by-side with various business partners & in-country payroll partners to ensure everyone is paid accurately and on time
Manage payroll documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Experience with various accounting systems and tools, including implementation of ERP systems highly desirable
Lead various projects, including new entity set up, system implementations, and accounting for specific transactions as needed
Implement process improvement projects to optimize the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the broader finance and accounting functions

Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of Finance or Accounting Manager experience
Software/SaaS industry background
Bachelor’s degree in related fields (Finance, Economics or Accounting)
Working knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, & forecasting
Advanced MS Excel skills
Precise and positive communication skills in written and spoken English
