Job Description : POSITION: Accounts Payable AccountantAGENCY SUMMARY: Child Care Resources (CCR) has been at the forefront of the early learning landscape for over 30 years ensuring that all children have equitable access to safe, engaging, and positive early learning experiences that promote school readiness and lifetime success. With a staff of over 140 and a budget of $27.2 million (99% publicly funded), CCR provides a broad array of services for families and child care providers so that they in turn can support the development and well-being of our children.POSITION PURPOSE: The Accounts Payable Accountant assists the Controller with the agency’s financial, administrative, and clerical support.NATURE AND SCOPE: The Business Services Team supports and works collaboratively with Program and Fund Development staff to assure the highest quality service to families, child care providers, and the community. It is our goal to develop and sustain the services and infrastructure that most effectively support the people, mission, and goals of Child Care Resources. The Accounts Payable Accountant oversees the timely completion of payment, the requisition of payments and processing, verification and reconciliation of invoices and ensures the accuracy of the agency’s financial documents for payment, auditing and government funding compliance.RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle high volume accounts payable – code, input, and review supporting documentation for AP requisitions, expense and mileage reimbursements, invoices and credit card statements.Prepare and process weekly runs and ACH payments.Ensure all reoccurring payments (rent, utilities etc.) are paid on schedule.Coordinate with vendors and staff to ensure appropriate coding and compliance with all grants and contractsMaintain and update all accounts payable data and ensure accuracy in general ledgersReconcile vendor accounts and prepare 1099’sResearch and resolve vendor inquiries and statement discrepancies.Assist with accounting activities and frequently interact with both our internal and external community, focusing on meeting the individual needs of each customer.Reconcile outstanding AP checksMaintain and update accounts payable processes and procedures.Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and internal controlsMaintain AP Software workflow and assign accounting segment codes for each staff.Attend Accounting, Business Services, and Agency meetings and trainingsOther duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirements include at least 4 years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable, with full cycle AP, reconciliations, journal entries, reporting etc.Associate degree in Accounting with 4 years related experience;OR a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Accounting or Business with 1 year related experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel*, and PowerPointAbility to multi-task, to model flexibility, adapt and respond to change, proactively seek opportunities to be supportive of change.Strong organizational ability, including the ability to prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines, ensuring delivery of high-quality work.Effective external and internal customer service skills including written and verbal communication, demonstrates empathy and listening.Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, cultural relevancy, and inclusion, is requiredMust be accountable and accurate with a focus on attention to detailProven ability to work in a team environmentFamiliarity with Abila Fund Accounting software is preferredMust be able to pass the yearly credit and criminal background checksExcel test will be required as part of the interview processCORE COMPETENCIESMission-driven: Commitment to advancing social justice through equitable educational opportunities for all childrenEquity mindset: Demonstrates the values of racial equity, diversity and inclusion; fosters an inclusive environment that facilitates diversityCommunication: Uses effective written and oral communication with internal staff, teams, and community served; demonstrates empathy and listeningAdaptability: Adapts and responds to change; proactively seeks opportunities to be supportive of change that serves our missionOwnership and quality of work: Manages own work, and work of teams when relevant, ensuring delivery of high-quality workDecision-making: Regularly identifies critical information needed to inform decision-makingContinuous improvement minded: Identifies strategies to improve organization’s impact**COMPENSATION: Salary Range: The expected salary range is between* $55,000 – $60,000* annually, depending on qualifications and experience.FLSA Status: ExemptThis is a full time salaried position requiring a willingness to work some evenings and weekends.REPORTS TO: Controller**BENEFITS: CCR’s benefit package includes employer-paid top tier medical, dental and vision insurance plans for employees, 21 days of PTO per year in addition to 10 paid holidays, 3 paid floating holidays, birthday holiday, and week-long office closure the week of July 4, and at year-end, flexible work environment, employer-paid life insurance, short-term disability/illness leave accrual, and 401k with 3% employer match.**HOW TO APPLY: A resumeA cover letter, describing as specifically as you can how your experience, skills, and values fit with Child Care Resources’ goals and mission as described in this announcement.A brief personal equity statement, describing your skills and experience engaging with issues involving diversity, racial equity, and inclusion, and/or in advancing racial equity in organizations.
