Job Description : COMPANY OVERVIEWMSIC is an insurer of excess deposits for member credit unions. In addition to its insurance role, the Company owns a multi-tenant, commercial real estate property. Also, the Company owns an interest in a growing partnership which currently provides mortgage services to credit unions. This partnership will expand to provide additional services to credit unions.QUALIFICATIONSWe are seeking an accountant to assist the Accounting Manager with daily accounting functions. In addition, this person will assist the Treasurer with both routine and special operations and finance projects. The ideal candidate will have several years accounting experience and is comfortable learning new software programs.RESPONSIBILITIESAssistance with the daily bookkeeping activity, preparation of journal entries, maintenance of balance sheets, schedules and ledgersAssistance with the monthly closes of the three entitiesAssistance with preparation for the annual external audits for the three entitiesAssistance with preparation for the periodic examinations by the MA Division of BanksAssistance with ongoing analysis of member credit unionsAssistance with the preparation of quarterly financial information to be submitted to Audit and Investment CommitteesAssistance with accounting, finance, and operations projectsJob Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offPhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:Vaccination is required for all employees.Limitations on the number of people in the office at any given time.Ability to commute/relocate:Newton, MA 02464: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:GAAP: 3 years (Preferred)Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location
