Job Description : A Utah based design manufacturing company that works with financial institutions nationwide has experienced significant growth in the last few years, making for one of the fastest growing companies in Utah has an immediate need for an experienced Assistant Controller Accountant.
Benefits for the Accountant / Assistant Controller position include:
Starting Wage: $38.00 – $42.00 an hour DOE
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm
Full Benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, paid holidays, 401k with a 4% match, and paid time off.
This is a direct-hire opportunity and not a temp or contract position.
Responsibilities for the Accountant / Assistant Controller position include:
Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
Assist with maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
Assist with creating customer past due reports and following up with customers on past due accounts.
Review of bills of material and work with departments to ensure accuracy.
Report on margins by-product to drive pricing decisions/improvements.
Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
Provide reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability.
Report on periodic variances and their causes
Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
Prepare and post month-end general ledger journal entries and maintain documentation
Report scrap and productivity percentages
Determine the costs and efficiency of Company purchasing activities
Backup for accounts receivable and payable as needed.
Assisting the accounting manager as needed.
Perform any other accounting or finance-related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications for the Accountant / Assistant Controller position include:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Previous controller or finance manager experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Self-motivated individual and must be able to effectively balance a large workload
Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to follow through to completion
Proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task on multiple projects
Proficient with Microsoft desktop applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
