The Sourcing Function at is responsible to work with Category & matrix functions to create long term sourcing strategy for each
category/product, identify best partners for Flipkart, ensure the best value sourcing solutions and continuously work on cost
improvements ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Being India’s largest online marketplace and the most used e-commerce app in India, places Flipkart in a unique position and
gives this team a distinctive opportunity — to Setup the sourcing supplier base for the specific category from scratch and
build robust sourcing strategy to ensure all the dimension of product selection are met.
What this Job entails :
As a Sourcing Manager you will be working on:
Supplier Mapping and Supplier Relationship Management :-
Create Supplier data base of all potential suppliers for our needsLead RFQ’s, audits and prototyping process to create business case for the shortlisted supplier(s)Responsible to present the final business case proposal, including Risk Assessment / Gap Analysis and
plans to close these actions to Steering Group ensuring supplier start up decision is taken.
Identify the clusters for supplier base and prioritize clusters – both domestic & international
Cost Management
Responsible to work with Cost Break Down models for all productsResponsible to drive cost improvement initiatives and deliver constant savingsBenchmark cost data with market to deliver cost improvements
Associations and Collaborations :
At Flipkart, the work of a Sourcing manager involves collaboration with the Quality, Operations and Finance teams to
ensure a holistic outcome at the product delivery. The engagement of multiple stakeholder in functional domain within
Flipkart enables sourcing managers to focus on various initiatives of cost improvement, product quality and create a deep
sense of ownership at every stage of work.
What you will need:
Graduate with min 4 to 7 years of Exp in Sourcing/ Buying
Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills
Strong understanding of technology and business
Ability to connect with people across teams & levels
Strong bias for Action – Flipkart works at a very rapid pace
Strong in costing and negotiation.
