General description

Purpose
Candidate to lead International Private Banking Tax operations team with AWM line of business (Mumbai location). Role involves leading a team of 20 people who are involved in tax reporting functions and tax withholding functions across multiple tax jurisdictions.
Role & Responsibilities
Tax reporting for foreign entities including CRS & FATCA, US Tax 1042, US Tax 1099,UK Tax, Indonesia & French Tax
Handling and resolving escalations by effectively liaising with operations teams such as Asset Servicing, Hedge Funds, Reconciliations, global custodian among other teams
Managing performance discussions with team including associates who are first line managers
Liaising with stakeholders such as Onshore team, technology partners, Risk & Controls team, Front office and Projects team
Taking charge of deliverables which enable in successful tax reporting across the year for different tax jurisdictions
Challenging the status quo by bringing efficiency and robust controls in the process
Liaising with Corporate Tax for any changes in Tax concepts and regulations impacting reporting functions
Analyzing & reconciling trade/transaction feed between accounting system and tax system to ensure accurate gain/loss reporting in tax packs/reports
Ensuring the various tax reporting production
Producing with a high level of quality annual and on-demand tax reports on capital gains and income for clients
Ensuring that our tax statements meets the foreign tax requirements.
Helping the team head to optimise production processes and contributing to the continual improvement of production tools
Ensuring independent follow up on client requests and resolution of escalations and queries
Profile/Skills

Bachelors/Master’s in Accounting, Business and/or Economics.
At least 12 to 15 years’ experience in banking operations, especially in Tax operations/reporting
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to motivate the team and ensure business deliverables are consistently met
Attention to detail in identifying & fixing any process gaps
Ability to handle and resolve escalations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skilled user of MS Office (especially Excel)
Strong stakeholder management skills
