Job Description
Cloud Developer
Alvaria is looking for a Cloud Developer to join a team working on our industry leading, Cloud-based Alvaria platform. We are an All-Star Team delivering fully automated deployment solutions across multiple cloud platforms. Our charter is to deliver Alvaria’s feature and product deliverables. Specifically, this role requires writing code in support of Alvaria’s infrastructure, products, feature enhancements and customer solutions, just to name a few. Developing scripts, testing and mitigating issues to facilitate upgrades and deployments is required coupled with operational support.
PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Automate deployment process, including pre/post validations
Ensure timely Agile delivery; commit and deliver R&D features quarterly (PI Process)
Design and develop solutions to automate infrastructure for enterprise software in Cloud (AWS & Google)
Research and identify areas of improvements and tools for the DevOps processes and procedures
Identify, mitigate defects and refactor code as required
Support production releases/deployments to include triaging issues and engaging R&D App teams as required in a fun and collaborative environment
Ensure prompt, detailed documentation, versioning and adherence to Alvaria’s Engineering standards and procedures
STRONGLY DESIRABLE:
An understanding of call center applications
Preferred base knowledge of networking within a Cloud environment (DNS, firewalls, etc.)
Experience working in Agile development organizations
Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) environments
Preferred knowledge of the Atlassian tool chain (Aha!, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git, Zephyr)
Experience with alerting/monitoring cloud software with tools like Datadog, Sumologic, Splunk
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
A passion for working with development teams to
Deliver a highly reliable infrastructure
Ensure timely feature delivery in support of new products, enhancements, and customer solutions
Range of vision to ensure efficient and effective automation
Programming skill any of the following:
Ansible and/or Python – Required
Jenkins, Terraform, Ruby, Chef, Groovy, GIT best practices – Preferred
Experience following the entire programming life cycle (development/operational support) from inception to delivery
Experience leveraging either public cloud: Google, AWS, or Azure
Minimum of 2 years total on the job writing code to deliver features and/or enhancements
Familiar with the DevOps culture with public cloud environment
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience to design/implement/test/support reliable deployment solutions required
Communication/documentation/mentoring skills to work cross functionally and across time zones
Related discipline/experience or Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science
