Job Description : We are looking for highly competent, passionate and curious software engineers who want to make a lasting impact on our in-house, enterprise grade PaaS platform that powers hundreds of applications for Cisco DNAC (DNA Center) in on-prem and cloud deployments.
Who we are
We are the core platform team responsible for developing and sustaining a cloud native PaaS platform that powers hundreds of applications delivering Cisco’s intent-based networking platform – Cisco DNA Center. Our platform provides a comprehensive suite of services, frameworks and tooling aimed at solving complex problems from development to deployment to operations. We are a team of passionate, highly skilled, polyglot system engineers operating in the areas of microservices, container orchestration, distributed messaging and storage systems, cloud native observability, API platforms with REST and gRPC etc., We are passionately curious and take immense pride in the work we do.
Who you are
You are deeply motivated platform engineer with background in building PaaS or similar shared software platforms. You have experience in building, shipping and operating software-as-a-service (SaaS) products using cloud native stack and principles. You have a deep understanding of all aspects of software development and take deep pride in operational and security aspects of services you develop. You are passionate about agility, testability, observability, serviceability, reliability, scalability and operational effectiveness of the software you develop. You have passion for solving complex problems and are fueled by curiosity and hunger to learn constantly. You are a polyglot who loves learning new programming languages and systems.
What you’ll do
You will be part of the core team that is responsible for developing and sustaining enterprise grade PaaS product . You will develop fault tolerant , resilient, scalable, api driven and serviceable microservices and contribute to the core capabilities of the platform. You will develop applications, tools and frameworks in a polyglot environment that solves real world problems and delivers immense value to app engineering teams. You will get to solve deeply technical and complex problems in the areas of distributed systems and container orchestration. You will be exposed to innovative technologies and opportunities to do high leverage work impacting Cisco’s flagship products. Most importantly, you will be working with highly skilled, extremely competent, humble and passionately curious team members who will always have your back and invested in your success.

Required Qualifications
A top-tier software engineer with 5-8 years’ experience working as a senior in high impact software development team
Expert Programming skills with Python/Golang
Linux system development exposure, working experience with Virtualization, Containers, Microservices, Kubernetes, Backend Systems, RESTful APIs
Exposure to SQL/NoSQL stores/Messaging systems like Kafka etc.
Experience in all phases of SW development cycle with good exposure to agile development methodologies
Has broader system level knowledge, intuitive understanding of system level interactions, performance trade-offs
Well versed with the challenges of distributed systems.
Desired Qualifications
Ability to dive into a large polyglot codebase and contribute as you learn
Demonstrable ability to research problems and break them into discrete parts
Ability to ramp-up quickly and contribute to a production codebase
