Job Description : What you’ll do: This is not your standard corporate finance position, but rather a “full-stack” role where you will be responsible for everything from daily bookkeeping to executive-level decision making.You will have the opportunity to take ownership, learn, and grow in an analytically challenging role within a fast-paced team environment. You will need to be thoughtful, responsive, positive, resourceful, flexible, and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.As a key member of the Management Team, the Controller will report to the Fractional Chief Financial Officer and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance and indirect responsibility with budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, negotiations, and investor relationships with the understanding that this role will develop and progressively take on more of these responsibilities over time.The chosen candidate will be accountable for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting standards.ManagementProvides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.Directs and oversees all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action.Establishes and maintains strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.Provides executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.Assists with processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the CompanyProvides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.Ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresTransactionsEnsure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner, accounts receivable are collected promptly, and payroll is processed in a timely manner.Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed.Maintain the chart of accounts, an orderly accounting filing system and a system of controls over accounting transactionsReportingIssue timely and complete financial statementsCoordinate the preparation of the corporate annual reportRecommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operationsCalculate and issue financial and operating metricsProvide financial analyses as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiationsComplianceCoordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual auditComply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysesHigh level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.SupervisionSupervise all accounting staff consisting of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Other RequirementsBA/BS Degree in finance or accounting with CPA7+ years in finance & accounting with at least 3 years in public accountingTo Apply: Please apply with your resume and a cover letter letting us know why you’re perfect for the job.
