Summary
Dakota Agronomy Partners LLC is looking for a Controller to coordinate the accounting and data processing functions for our retail facilities; ensuring timely and accurate financial information is reported. You will promote a positive image of the company to patrons and provide excellent customer service. You must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and manage a strong financial controls and accounting procedures environment.
Serve as a business partner to leaders to provide decision support enabling the attainment of business unit objectives.
Monitor and coordinate the application of evolving accounting guidance with finance departments and prepare reports to senior management on GAAP changes.
Determine accounting policies and procedures that will facilitate accurate reporting for management and external financial statement users.
Lead the month-end/year-end closing process for assigned business unit or group in accordance with the company accounting calendar, and preparation of monthly closing activities for assigned areas of responsibility.
Direct the development and preparation of financial reports and analysis that support internal and external SEC reporting and footnote requirements for the financial quarterly close reporting process.
Lead the forecast and budget process to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
Establish, implement, review, and improve internal control policies, procedures, and protocol.
Review country-specific required filings for accuracy and ensure timely filings; verify documentation is maintained to support differences in accounting practices and regulations to US GAAP.
Prepare precise year-end audit work papers in accordance with internal and external audit requirements.
Champion and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Recommend and facilitate the implementation of continuous system enhancements and improved reporting capabilities.
Provide day-to-day guidance to team of direct reports.
Perform other dutier and responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business, Business Administration, or related field
4+ years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting
Prior leadership experience with progressively advancing level of leadership responsibilities
Additional Qualifications
Proficent in MS Office suite
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organization skills and analytical ability
Proven ability to build relationships and be successful in a fast-paced environment
