Big Sky is also home to the largest ski resort in the United States so if you ski/board you’ll be in heaven.Job Summary: The Controller position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company. This includes monthly financial reporting, maintenance of accounting systems, and comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate risk. This includes general ledger and sub ledger adjustments and reconciliations. The Controller is also responsible for managing the processing of weekly in-house payroll and cross training with the HR Manager to complete this task as needed.Essential Job Requirements: Job Qualifications:Education: Four-year Accounting or related degree required. Master of Accounting, MBA or related degree preferredProfessional Certification: CPA required, CFMA preferredExperience: Four to six years related experience required; some manufacturing, construction or related industry experience preferredExperience: Two years HR/PAYROLL experience preferredExperience: Experience with ERP systems and databases required; Sage Construction and Real-estate 300 (timberline) preferredEquivalent combination of technical training, education, and/or related experience will be consideredPreferred Skills and Abilities:Computer: Proficient experience with the following or similar software; IOS, Windows, Sage Construction and Real Estate 300 (Sage Timberline), Microsoft Office 365 (Office apps, Teams, One Note), BlueBeam (pdf editor) etc.IT: General IT proficiency with Interest information systems, reporting and system implementationsJob Cost: Attention to detail, project and cost accounting, preferably construction job costing tracking. Experience with Subcontractor agreements, compliance, and insurance.Financial Statement Preparation: Knowledge of GL accounting reconciliation, preparation of financial statements, audit preparation, revenue recognition for contract accounting.Reporting and Analysis: Advanced excel including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, ERP reporting including table joins and database queries.Payroll: Prior experience processing in-house payrollMission:Develop and execute financial and operational reporting to support routine financial and key performance metric reporting. Develop efficient processes and procedures for monthly financial package, job reporting and job analysis.Outcomes:1) All accounting operations executed accurately and timely.Billing, A/R, A/P, and Job cost (Staff Accountant)Payroll (Self and HR Manager)GL and Financial Reporting (Self)2) Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plan.3) Month-end close completed by 15th of month regularly.
