Job Description : Job title: Controller Job location: Lubbock, TX SummaryWe are seeking an ambitious Controller to become a vital part of our company. In this leadership role, you will report to the General Manager, and you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Working with our company, you will be a leader and encourage innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, and support creativity in your area of responsibility.ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniquesPrepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash managementPerform duties beyond formal job responsibilitiesWork closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operationManage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecastsAnalyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologiesResearch, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as requiredPresent executive committee and partners with monthly financial reportsGuide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payrollEnsure timely filing of all monthly, quarterly and annual state and federal reports.RequirementsExcellent attention to detailStrong communication skills and able to receive criticism wellOutstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentationsBA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related fieldCPA or MBA is a plusSelf-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferredCommitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlinesPast work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valuedEarlier experience in public accounting is highly valuedExperience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plusDeep understanding of Analyze Financial StatementsBudget forecasting experience requiredComprehensive knowledge of Personal Financial StatementsTop notch analytical, quantitative and social skillsPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
