Job Description : SUMMARY:
The Controller is responsible for Wakefield Thermal, its subsidiaries, and all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. They will provide leadership and coordination in the accounting and budgeting efforts and business planning of the company. The Controller will also work closely with key business leaders and their staff, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures but also to explore how the finance function can support program operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates month end and end of year close.
Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and budgets.
Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
Ensure record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems.
Manages all aspects of Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Petty Cash, Cash Control, and Payroll Accounting and Tax Compliance.
Assists in preparation and monitors yearly budgets.
Controls all activities relating to the General Ledger.
Forecasts cash requirements.
Coordinates all Inter-Company transactions.
Responsible for all aspects of company banking.
Directly supervises accounting staff members and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA a plus.
10 + years’ progressive Accounting/Finance experience.
5 + years’ experience in a leadership role within a multi-site manufacturing facility.
Proven experience in financial project management.
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial/business acumen.
Technical proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. Microsoft Dynamics experience highly desirable.
Expert knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organizational and priority setting skills.
Professional written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
High degree of diplomacy and the ability to liaise with department heads and executive leadership team while working towards a common goal.
A team player who drives change in their respective area for improved performance while championing the business and its customers and working as a true business partner.
A natural leader who can groom talent while supporting personal growth and development of their team members.
This position requires 25% domestic travel.
