Job Description : We are a lawn and landscaping company dedicated to providing our clients with their dream outdoor living spaces. We are looking to add more talented individuals to our team!We are searching for a full-time Controller. The ideal candidate for our Controller position will have a thorough knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures, principles, and finance. This is a great opportunity to oversee all business functions, HR, accounting, finance, and operations in a small company setting while directly impacting our success.Our office is located in East Lansing, MI. All applicants MUST live in East Lansing or in a nearby area like downtown Lansing, Haslett, and Okemos.Controller Responsibilities: Oversee A/R, A/P, payroll functions, and moreConduct a monthly review and analysis of general ledger & financial statementsMaintain all debt and equipment schedulesPrepare multi-year forecasts and monthly budgets to routinely measure company performanceMake financing recommendations and assist with financing requestsProcess new employees, benefit implementation, and complianceContinuously review project job costing and adjust production/labor rates to meet targetsRecommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenueManage external auditsBe the liaison with our CPA firm to maximize tax planning and the liaison with our insurance company to evaluate coveragesMaintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and proceduresPerform other projects and duties as assignedController Position Requirements: BA degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferredStrong knowledge of MS Office | intermediate- advanced excel skills requiredExperience with QuickBooks and new software implementation and integrationCreativity and autonomy requiredMust be self-disciplined and have strong attention to detail skillsMust be able to multitaskAbility and desire to learn and take on new tasksMust be able to manage highly confidential information with the utmost discretionWillingness to learn software utilized by Outdoor ExpressionsMust have reliable transportation and be able to come to our office in East Lansing every workdayPay: $50,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience and skillsBenefits: Flexible scheduleFabulous work/life balanceThe excitement of a rapidly growing companyThe ability to significantly impact the company’s success and enhance your career path by being hands-on with all facets of the companyHealth insurancePTOParental leaveJob Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:Flexible scheduleHealth insurancePaid time offParental leaveSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:We follow all CDC guidelines and comply with all state/local mandates.Work Location: One location
