Who We Need:
The Corporate Accountant’s responsibilities include reconciliation, reporting, research, and overall support for mortgage and loan operations. Position is highly technical and requires the ability to work independently and provide a keen attention to detail. Must have knowledge of general accounting principles that can be applied to assigned tasks, and provide accurate and timely responses to inquiries from both Operations and Accounting staff.
What You Will Do:
Research and resolve issues related to loan accounting/servicing according to financial policies and procedures
Review and reconcile remittance from servicer and compare to loan documents and origination system
Provide backup support and assistance for all loan accounting processes, general ledger entries, and related reconciliations as assigned, and assist with special projects
Communicate clearly and provide timely information to both internal employees and external business partners
Provide support for wires as it relates to loan accounting, escrows, or other needed requests
Perform month-end close procedures, as necessary
Ability to work well within a team environment and take constructive criticism, coaching, and feedback on a consistent basis, as well as train others on areas of expertise
Proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
What You Need:
BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2-5 years of experience in corporate and/or public accounting, with loan accounting emphasis
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP software
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Must be able to adapt well to change and to a fast-paced environment
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing
