Job Description : About Us: FirstFruits Farms, Washington’s largest Opal apple grower is ready to add a high caliber, experienced Corporate Controller to our team. The Corporate Controller is responsible for the continued oversight and review of our accounting operations for our various entities. This position will oversee our accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger maintenance. The Corporate Controller must be self-motivated and take initiative to analyze and address problems quickly with the accounting team and ensure efficient and continued operation.The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.Primary Responsibilities: Primary oversight and review of accounting operations for FirstFruits Holdco and subsidiaries, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger maintenanceManagement of accounting staff and daily workflowTeaching, training, and development of accounting staff and other company personnel associated with accounting functionsManagement of and expert resource for cost accounting, capitalized costs, inventory, and fixed assetsOversee monthly close process and preparation of board report and financial statementsLead digital transformation of accounting functions across all companiesEnsure measurement accuracy and consistency of key performance indicatorsManage compliance with accounting standards and implementation of accounting standard changesMaintain and enforce system of accounting policies and procedures; monitor internal controls and recommend updates and improvementsPrimary responsibility for managing annual financial statement audit, including fieldwork, responding to questions, and preparing/gathering requested documentation; assign staff tasks and responsibilities related to auditAssist with annual budget process and ensure alignment of management performance measurements with GAAP-based measurementsManage income tax accounting and filing requirements in coordination with outside accountantsOversee inter-company accountingMaintain and process changes to chart of accounts for all companiesRequired Skills: Employee supervision and managementModerate-to-advanced Excel knowledgeHigh standard of integrity and trustMaintain utmost confidentiality and discretion with company financial dataMinimum Education/Experience: Four-year college degree in finance, accounting, or related field with equivalent experience5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experienceStrongly Preferred: Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management AccountantPublic accounting experienceAgricultural and/or tree fruit industry experienceBenefits: Competitive wages (based on experience)Paid time off – vacation, sick and holidaysMedical, dental, vision, long term disability & life insurance are all available with FirstFruits paying a significant portion of the monthly premiumOnsite medical clinic and daycare401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributionsIf you are ready to start your career with the leader in the Washington apple industry, please send us your resume today!FirstFruits Farms is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, genetic information, physical or mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, marital status, or any other protected status.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
