Job Description : Pre-IPO biotech company is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to add to their growing team. This is a great time to get into the company as they’re still early-stage but experiencing steady growth and this Controller will help build out accounting operations with the support of the CFO, SEC & Technical Accounting Manager, and Senior Accountant. In addition to handling the monthly and quarterly close, this position will also oversee financial reporting (10K’s and 10Q’s), AP, AR, Technical Accounting, and Internal Controls. We are looking for a CPA with 10-15 years of experience, preferably with some experience in a publicly-traded company. Prior experience with an IPO is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and yearly GL close process
Review quarterly and yearly SEC filings (10K’s and 10Q’s)
Assist with technical accounting research and implementation as needed
Ensure compliance with SOX-404
Manage a team of 5
Other ad hoc projects with CFO
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA preferred
10-15 years of experience
Knowledge of US GAAP, SEC, and SOX
Hands-on, strong communicator, and prior management experience
