Our design and ISTA-certified testing laboratories are highly recognized throughout the industry as world-class.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Cost Analyst will provide business support to the plants and the financial management team. The position will be responsible for gross margin analysis, identification and tracking of cost of goods sold elements and the underlying activities driving those costs, cost evaluation projects including activity-based costing, and the development of data accumulation systems needed to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product, product category, customer and plantReview daily bookings and identify and investigate sales order lines which do not meet gross margin targetsDevelop activity-based costing models which enable analysis of periodic profitability by product line, product category and plantReport on periodic cost variances and their causesConstruct data accumulation systems for cost accounting evaluations and reportsMonitor standard costs and ensure item and bill of material cost accuracy, including raw material costs, routings for the application of labor, and overheadProvide cost estimates for new products under developmentAccumulate and apply overhead costs as dictated by company policy and generally accepted accounting principlesPrepare and manage annual physical inventory and assist with on-going cycle count programInvestigate cycle count variances and resolve issuesAnalyze inventory valuation, turnover, obsolete and slow-moving inventoryAssist in month-end closing, prepare GL journal entries as necessarySupport and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and othersAssist in capital budgeting and capital expenditure approval processPerform cost analysis tasks for special cost related projectsREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with a top-tier ERP systemStrong computer literacy and skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and report writingAbility to research, compile, analyze and interpret dataStrong organizational and communication skills and multi-tasking abilityOccasional travel required_______________________________________________________________________________We are an equal opportunity employer.
