Job Description : Overview:

TIPPER TIE is a worldwide supplier of processing and clip packaging machines. Our product range includes fine cutters for emulsified products and a complete line of clippers from tabletop models to fully automated.
Our organization is currently seeking a Cost Accountant in Apex, NC to support our Accounting and Finance teams. The Cost Accountant is responsible for performing cost analyses to identify cost improvements and applying generally accepted accounting procedures to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
Responsibilities:
Review product line profitability and provide variance to forecast analyses
Determine quarterly pricing impact and sourcing savings
Assist in preparing monthly business performance review reporting package
Analyze monthly, quarterly and annual departmental expenses and compare against budget/forecast
Plan budgets, forecasts and prepare reports for departmental expenses
Analyze month-end and year-end reports to identify and recommend cost-effective improvements
Review and analyze costs and variances allocated to manufactured products
Review and monitor actual material costs and uninvoiced receipts for inaccuracies
Calculate annual standard labor and overhead rates
Post journal entries
Prepare account reconciliations
Perform month-end close duties
Support compliance to SOX 404 and assist with audit requests
Lead or support special accounting/finance projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university with a major in Accounting and/or Finance is required.
3+ years’ experience in accounting/finance functions, such as job costing, reconciliations, journal entries, forecasting and general ledger activity is required.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting and financial principles required.
Proficiency with PC and Microsoft Excel is required.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform data analysis to provide insights and solve problems is required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, make monthly deadlines and use good judgment and decision-making skills is required.
Ability to work independently and make decisions is required.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting is required.
Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning System ( LN, JDE, SAP) is preferred.
