We are seeking an experienced, highly self-motivated individual to add to our team in the position of Cost Accountant. The open position reports to the CFO and is responsible for various accounting and compliance functions within the company. Our hours are 8:00 -5:00 Monday through Friday and it is an in-office position.
Required Qualifications:
• A professional demeanor
Excellent communications skills5 years of prior accounting experience preferredExperience in the construction field preferredExperience with the Sage 300 accounting system software program a plusProficiency in MS Word, Excel and OutlookEthical business practicesWell-organized with high attention to accuracy and detail-orientedAttitude and aptitude to learn new skills and perform new responsibilities
Main Duties include:
• Job Costing – Entering Estimates, Entering Subcontracts /Contracts/Change Orders, Processing Trade Contractor Applications
Accounts Payable – Coding, Entry, Check ProcessingBilling/Accounts Receivable
Compliance Review – Trade Insurance Coverages, Waivers, Sworn Statements, Notice of FurnishingsAssist CFO and Project Managers as needed
Depending on experience and proven capabilities the position could also include duties such as bank reconciliations, payroll processing, insurance and benefits coordination, assistance with month-end closings and preparation of financial statements.
