Job Description : *** $1000 sign on bonus payable after 90 days continuous employment.Position Summary:This position is primarily responsible for collecting, validating and communicating data for the purposes of financial transparency and process improvements. They are responsible for the initiating the month-end closing and reporting processes, which they in turn submit to management. They set standard costs of business processes such as labor, shipping, production and administration.Essential Responsibilities:Essential Duties in Order of PriorityCollecting and analyzing data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and laborAnalyzing actual manufacturing costs/variances and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsRecording and reconciling departmental costs for use in controlling expendituresProviding management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or servicesExecuting the periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) financial close process with focus on inventory and cost of goods sold, including preparing and maintaining reporting schedulesMaintain fixed asset reporting and tracking of CIP activityInterface with company employees in related functions and demonstrate judgment, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customersDrive process improvements in cost accounting processes and data flows throughout the accounting departmentAccurately tracking and reporting Sales Taxes for 2 statesSupport technical accounting issues related to the month end and quarter end financial close and understand the accounting impact of proposed transactions regarding different functions and ensure US GAAP principles and rules are properly adhered toExecute key inventory and cost of goods sold process controls and ensure documentation of those controls adhere to audit requirementsConducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count programOther reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictateEducation:Bachelor’s degree related to finance, accounting or business administrationExperience:Minimum of 2 to 5 years accounting in a Manufacturing Environment (preferably in Cost Accounting)Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc:Requires experience working cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing personal on development and analysis of cost standardsRequires experience accurately preparing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reportsCommunication and Language skills:Must be able to communicate and interact with employees at all levels of the organization both verbally and writtenAbility to present to managementMathematical skills:Intermediate mathematics skills, including basic algebra and statisticsComputer Skills:Advanced working knowledge in MS Word and Excel spreadsheets – formulas, graphs and charts.Proficiency in creation of PowerPointFamiliarity with ERP systemsExperience with Cloudsuite Industrial (SyteLine) a plusReasoning ability:Requires ability to assess facts and develop conclusionsOther Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:Detail orientedSelf-motivatedStrong Time-managementAbility to maintain confidentialityStrong analytical and problem solving skillsCustomer focused attitudeSupervision Received:Receives direction on an as needed basis.
