SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting leadership in all facets of cost accounting and analysis including customer pricing models, labor reporting, variance analysis, routings, and gross margin reporting. Must collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups to support the continued growth of the company. Supports compliance with safety, food safety, quality, SQF, and USDA requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Prepare, distribute, and answer questions on customer pricing models.
Compile estimates of new and proposed product costs.
Manage pricing and accounting relationship with the Joint Venture.
Utilize analytic skills in collaboration with other functions to support continuous improvements in plant operations and the office.
Maintain labor routings on existing items and develop labor routings for new items.
Assist in the monthly closing process, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory and reconcile accounts.
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
Develop trend analysis on item cost components to identify areas for improvement or cost savings.
Provide financial analyses as requested, in particular for pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
Assist in the creation of the annual forecasts and update periodically as necessary.
Perform testing to ensure financial data integrity when changes or upgrades are made to systems including the ERP system.
Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, etc.
Collaborate with IT personnel to streamline activities and reduce manual tasks to maximize efficiencies.
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 3-5 or more years of related experience.
Ability to apply knowledge of GAAP & Cost Accounting Standards.
Ability to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
Strong computer proficiency in a Windows environment is required, specifically with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Internet. Advanced spreadsheet knowledge and experience (including but not limited to pivot tables, vlookups, sumif formulas, and graphs) is required.
Previous experience with MRP or ERP integrated manufacturing system application is required.
Must be a detail orientated, confident self-starter with a proven work ethic, uncompromising honesty and trustworthiness, and personal and professional integrity, maintaining utmost confidentiality of highly sensitive proprietary information.
Exemplary verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to represent the company in a professional manner.
Must possess the ability to read, analyze, interpret, and apply general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and the ability to write high-level reports, business correspondence and procedures.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of sources including groups of managers, customers, vendors, and plant partners.
Must possess the ability to work with and apply mathematical and statistical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram or schedule form.
