Your Role and Responsibilities
Administrating db2 database on UNIX, LINUX, WINDOWS as per the requirement.
Configuring and maintaining HADR (Primary, Standby database) for production database for Take-over, Fail-over, activating the standby to primary for zero data loss.
Applying various databases Fix Pack
Performing Online, Offline backups
Performing redirect restore of production db to development Server and Quality Server.
Applying rollforward recovery on db’s to recover data.
For Database Maintenance utilities like Reorg, Runstat, Reorgchk, Rebind.
Performance statistics, managing performance behavior and troubleshooting performance issues.
Export/import, Load utility to migrate data across schemas, tables.
Performance tuning using db2advis and db2expln tools.
Troubleshooting db performance related issues using MONREPORT module reports, taking Snapshot, db2diag, db2pd, db2top.
Managing User privileges, roles at db level.
Performing housekeeping of archive logs.
Monitoring the Databases, tablespaces, and db2 db2diag logs for database errors using Tivoli tool.
Troubleshooting db2 errors and contacting IBM PMR support for bug fixes.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
