Cloudera is looking for a seasoned Engineering Leader in Quality for Bangalore Site.
You will be responsible for the Quality of Cloudera’s Private Cloud Platform , Replication, and Quality Use-Case Team for Cloudera’s PaaS and SaaS suite of Products.
CDP Private Cloud delivers powerful analytic, transactional, and machine learning workloads in a hybrid data platform, combining the agility and flexibility of the public cloud with the control of the data center. With a choice of traditional as well as elastic analytics and scalable object storage, CDP Private Cloud modernizes traditional monolithic cluster deployments into a powerful and efficient platform.
Replication Manager is a service for copying and migrating data between environments within the enterprise data cloud. It is a simple, easy-to-use, and feature-rich data movement capability to move existing data and metadata to the cloud to fuel new workloads.
As Director of Quality Engineering, You will work closely with Key Stakeholders including Product managers, Engineering Directors, C-level executives, Program managers to deliver a high quality Product for our customers. You will be working with Customers as they adopt our hybrid data platform, understand their environments, and bring lessons back into test strategies and ultimately make Customer adoptions successful.
You will be managing our top talented Engineering managers and Quality Engineers in Bangalore. As a senior local leader in Bangalore, you will be coaching and mentoring local Engineering managers, grooming next generation leaders in Bangalore Site.
At Cloudera, We are incubating a new Customer Use-Case Quality Team. You will be responsible for building and growing this team. This team will be responsible for understanding Product requirements, Customer Use-Cases, and translation of requirements into Use-Case based test scenarios. You will be collaborating with Product managers, Cloudera’s Field teams, bringing learnings from direct Customer interactions.
Responsibilities
Incubate the Customer Use-Case Quality team and deliver Use-Case based scenarios for Cloudera’s suite of products
Prepare and drive QE roadmap for CDP Private Cloud
Deliver Testing Strategies for CDP Private Cloud, Replication Manager
Build realistic execution plans, present them for exec buy in and measure health of execution through metrics
Build strong relationships and collaborate with Product Management, Development , Release and Infrastructure, Field Engineering, and other external partners.
Work closely with Product Managers to define the capabilities that should be built into the product based on customer use cases.
As a leader, you should be able to fill in, to address gaps in process/practices followed by the team/organization.
Drive Operational Excellence for High Velocity releases and Agility
Innovate or adopt existing tools and testing methodologies to improve Product Quality. Drive such new initiatives across the organization.
Define OKRs for the team and drive Quality by Metrics
Hire, Grow and retain top talent
Identify learning opportunities and provide necessary training
Influence Quality mindset across the organization
Be the mentor and coach for local Engineering managers and nurture leaders
Qualifications
BE, MS in Computer Science
15+ years of engineering management experience with experience in site leadership managing diverse and across geos
Excellent Communication skills and Influential capability
Strong advocate of Shift-Left test methodologies, Software Release, Develop and Test practices
Must have experience managing Agile Teams
Strong focus on Customer UseCase and have a Customer First attitude
Very good Experience with Cloud technologies, PaaS & SaaS Products
Expertise with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Openshift, EKS, AKS, GKE, Google Anthos etc.) and cloud networking
Experience with Public cloud – AWS, Azure, or GCP
Should be able to understand Product requirements, architecture/design and provide technical direction to the team
Strong ability to lead and motivate teams in dynamic and fast paced developmental environments
Experience with Site leadership with Engineering teams of 100+ is a plus
Experience in quality engineering of open source technologies a big plus
