Responsibilities:

The Director of Technical Accounting will lead the technical accounting function at Post Holdings Inc. to ensure the appropriate application of US GAAP. The technical accounting function will lead the implementation effort of new accounting standards within the company. This role will also act as the primary contact for each of Post’s business units to determine the accounting requirements covering a variety of complex areas including mergers and acquisitions, variable interest entities, impairment review, stock-based compensation and hedge accounting. Qualified candidates should have extensive experience with US GAAP, SEC regulations and Sarbanes Oxley and have the ability to manage projects across various accounting and non-accounting disciplines. This role based in St. Louis will report to the Senior Director – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting.
Coordinate and manage annual impairment review process with business units, external service providers and external auditors
Primary lead in implementing new accounting standards
Prepare and/or assist in preparation of accounting policy memos and whitepapers
Project manage and act as lead accounting contact on merger, acquisition and divestiture activity
Lead all merger and acquisition valuation efforts with external advisors
Act as lead technical accountant and liaise with business units on all accounting matters
Collaborate with external reporting and investor relations teams as necessary to support quarterly and annual reporting.
Lead review of SEC regulations as related to registration statements, debt offerings and M&A activity
Conduct financial due diligence of M&A transactions as needed
Partner with legal and business units to identify/resolve all accounting concerns through contract review process
Ability to project manage across disciplines, including accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A, legal and business units
This is a HYBRID role, we work from home Mondays and Fridays, and are in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Qualifications:
CPA required.
Relevant work experience gained through experience in public accounting (big four preferred) and/or a combination of public accounting and public company experience between 8-10 years
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley
Ability to project manage across disciplines, including accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A, legal and business units
Must be able to thrive in fast paced, challenging environment
Self-starter who needs minimal direction on day-to-day basis
Minimal travel required but must be available as needed, including international
