Position Summary

The Accountant I position provides accounting and analysis support to the GreatAmerica Portfolio Services Group (“GPSG”). This position is responsible for various servicing roles for internal and third-party clients. Specifically, this position will be responsible for GPSG business unit accounting activities and related reporting including to third-party clients. Additionally, provides support to the GPSG leadership team to accomplish operating and strategic goals.

Essential Functions

Daily balancing of client payment collections and remittances; including routine ledger research resulting in account setup
Monthly preparation of ledger reconciliations including but not limited to payables and receivables in accordance with GAAP
Prepare various reconciliations of GPSG third-party vendors and core customer processes such as invoicing, ACH payments and UCC filings
Account for GPSG business third-party vendor expenses and pass through invoicing
Participation in monthly close; preparing and posting journal entries
Comply with appropriate accounting standards and internal control processes
Assistance in maintaining client billing files to be consistent with client transaction documentation
Prepare and deliver monthly reporting for various internal and external clients
Research and resolve all process discrepancies promptly
Maintain active relationships with GPSG clients on job related deliverables
Compile periodic client performance metrics for leadership analysis
Use of core loan, leasing and solar servicing systems, associated accounting entries and assist in reconciliation process
Assist the GPSG operations team with the onboarding of new clients by providing setup of loan and leasing system, general ledger, journal entry translation, daily remittance and client specific reporting
Compile materials related to occasional onsite operational review/client visits
Participate in process improvement initiatives within the business unit
Creation and upkeep of team’s internal documentation
Provide an outstanding GreatAmerica experience to all clients
Perform other duties as required

Education: BA/BS in Accounting or work experience equivalent

Experience: 1-3 years finance and accounting experience

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel with a working knowledge of other Microsoft office applications required

Other Requirements: Qualified candidates will need a motivated spirit, possess excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize and quickly jump between tasks, exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and possess outstanding computer skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organized, creative, team-player with initiative who responds well to challenges and demonstrate sound business judgment.
