Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the role of Financial Controller. In this role, the qualified individual will perform a variety of Cost Accounting and Financial Reporting duties to ensure that Sales, Cost of Sales, and Inventory are properly accounted for. Working in a U.S. Government contracting environment, this role requires a solid understanding of Cost Pools and Overhead rates, as well as the Accounting rules for long term agreements and revenue recognition. This position reports to the Site General Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist the Program Management function to ensure that project costs and EAC’s (estimates at completion) are as accurate as possible.
Weekly and monthly reporting of inventory, cost data, Sales, Booking & Backlog.
Produce invoices, progress billings and cost vouchers.
Execute cost and inventory transfers in the company’s ERP system (Deltek Costpoint).
Participate in development of bids and proposals, and review of existing projects.
Assist with producing investment justification and requests for capital.
Coordinate and/or assist in the development of budgets for projects and expenses.
Coordinate the development of annual budgets for direct and indirect costs, and produce periodic reports of actual costs and variances.
Ensure appropriate cost accounts and pools are maintained in the ERP system.
Perform various month-end Accounting close activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications (Education/Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or a closely related field.
5+ years of full-time, professional-level employment in accounting, financial reporting & analysis, or a closely related professional-level financial role
Thorough understanding and practice of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and U.S Government contracting.
Hands on experience developing Cost Pools and Overhead rates.
Ability to work with department Managers on development of department budgets and ongoing review of actuals costs and variances.
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced work environment to ensure quality work product is delivered on time.
Ability to present facts and recommendations in a clear, concise, logical manner, orally and in writing.

Not required, but preferred qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business or a closely related field.
Experience in working with U.S. Government Contracting & Cost Accounting regulations including FAR, DFARS, CAS, etc.
3+ years’ experience in a CAS-compliant environment working directly with U.S. Government contracts, maintenance of direct & indirect cost pools and the development of overhead rates and budgets.
Successful experience interacting directly with DCMA and/or DCAA.
Experience working with Deltek CostPoint ERP systems
