Department Description and Background
Our goal is to drive business value from better quality data, as data is at the heart of everything we do at JPMorgan Chase. Firmwide Data Quality’s team role is to drive the approach to data quality at the firm, by setting DQ standards and monitoring, providing central capabilities (process and tooling) and data expertise/consulting.
The role represents an exciting opportunity for a candidate to be involved in a key initiative for the firm. The Firmwide Data Quality team supports the Firmwide Chief Data Officer (CDO), and Line of Business (LOB) / Corporate Function (CF) CDOs, for the governance of Data Quality issues.
The Data Management Analyst will join a team focused on delivering business impact by supporting the evolution of the central Data Quality Issue Management approach and be responsible for supporting the strategy and execution of Chief Data Office’s initiatives. This is accomplished by delivering strategic business objectives as defined by the CDO with project management skills and stakeholder/technology engagement. Critical tasks include daily advisory support for our stakeholders across the firm, the development of Data Quality metrics, and evolving the approach, processes, and associated tooling to drive adoption and enable implementation of firmwide requirements.

This role is a fresh opportunity within JP Morgan that will offer the candidate the chance to join a high profile team. The candidate will take a critical role within the Firmwide data management team to help manage one the most significant change programs.
Key roles and responsibilities:

Perform Data quality Triage and Exception management for all data quality issues across Firmwide.
Contribute to the development and execution of the Firmwide Data Quality strategy
Implement and support Data Quality (DQ) practices across the Firmwide and influence design of associated processes.
Support the implementation of a revised Data Quality Issue Management approach, including tooling, metrics, process documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures) and supporting materials (e.g., user guides and training materials)
Complete ad-hoc data analysis which may be required to inform Data Quality process enhancements
Contribute to the execution of Data Quality BAU processes.
Coordination of technology stakeholders to make the tooling updates required to facilitate implementation and improvements
Build partnerships and effective relationships with Data Quality champions across LOBs
Perform project management and business analysis on data related projects, as required.
Perform regression, UAT and QA testing to support the product implementation.
Provided quarterly, monthly, and adhoc reporting of data quality issues, tracking, and management of metrics, KPIs, and KRIs.
Prepare executive presentations and update on data management
Supporting the Data Quality book of work.
Effectively communicate status/progress of work to CDO team, stakeholders, and senior management, and escalate when needed
Defining and driving operational improvements in the team’s data quality and Data Governance functions

Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; Business analysis / Data management / Project management experience helpful
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills; analyzing data with respect to corresponding business and technology processes; comfortable working with large quantities of data
2-5 years of finance, reporting, or data quality experience.
Communication / Influence

Excellent ability to quickly learn and assimilate business and technical knowledge, and confidently speak about these processes
Strong communication, presentation (both oral and written) and influencing skills
Proven ability to work across diverse groups, build consensus and execute the agreed plans
Ability to build effective business relationships across a wide network of teams
Soft Skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently in a flexible, fast paced environment
Attention to detail and investigative skills
Must be detail oriented, highly responsible, and able to work with tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical

Overall strong desktop skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications
Excellent Analytical and problem-solving skills
Understanding of concepts and hands-on experience working with relational databases, SQL, and BI tools
Proficiency in manipulating and analyzing data sets in Excel (pivots, formulas, charts, etc.)
Experience with tools such as Qlikview, Alteryx, Tableau is a plus.
