Job Description : We are currently seeking a General Accountant for a manufacturer in the local area. This accountant will be primarily based in Thomaston, but will be required to visit other company offices in the Waterbury area. This is a direct hire position with pay between $60k-$70k, depending on prior experience. Hours will be Monday-Friday with flexible options between 7am-5pm. The primary function of the General Accountant will be to partner with the business and finance departments to support the monthly accounting process. Other duties include:General administration duties including journal entries, reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts.Support the finance team by preparing analysis on the day to day business needsAnalyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures.Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.The continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools.Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis.Assist the audit process liaising with external auditors.Monthly Financial reports including Forecast for P&L, Cash Flows and investments.Supporting Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysisAct as cover for vacation and absence on AR & AP roles.Keep management apprised of non-standard issues and escalate when appropriateUpdate Daily cash files and assist with cash forecastingActive participation with driving results to meet individual, dept and company objectivesOther tasks/projects as neededQualifications/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferable.Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically using Excel and PowerPoint.Knowledge of SAP, SysPro, and 3rd party billing payment portals a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as advanced organization skills.Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated.If interested please submit a resume for immediate consideration; qualified candidates will be contacted.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearPhysical Setting:OfficeSchedule:Monday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Accounting: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
