Position Summary/Objective

The Accounting Manager supervises, tracks, and evaluates day-to-day activities and is responsible for

establishing financial health of the AP and/or AR departments.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Oversee all General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Financial Reporting activity.
Lead the team in monthly bank reconciliations and closings, journal entry prep, analysis and the
reconciliation of General Ledger accounts.
Accomplishes accounting objectives in recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling,
coaching, counseling and disciplining employees.
Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions
Enforcing policies and procedures.
Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and
recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans, implementing
production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems, completing
audits, identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget,
scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.
Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting
regulations; recommending new procedures.
All other duties as assigned and/or required.
Competencies, Skills & Abilities

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good computer skills.
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse
group of team members, executives and managers.
Ability to build, encourage and develop others.
Must be a highly detailed, accurate and well-organized problem solver.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance, a CPA is a plus
Prior General Ledger and Reporting experience, including full responsibility for Month-End closings.
Experience in middle-market to large corporation reporting requirements.
Background
Ability to successfully pass a background check
May be asked to perform a drug test for specific positions
Must be a legal citizen or otherwise permitted to legally work in the US without sponsorship
