Job Description : Performs functions for contracts and grants, and restricted funding. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field with minimum of 12 credits of accounting.One (1) year experience in finance, accounting, or other closely related area.Work Experience in Accounting may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.Ability to be bonded.Preferred QualificationsExperience in BANNER software.Knowledge of grant accounting.Experience working in a HigherEducational Institution.Accounts Receivable ExperienceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and Governmental Accounting Standards Board guidelines.Knowledge of computers and job- related software programs.Knowledge of college policies and procedures.Knowledge of grant compliance requirements.Knowledge of office filing systems.Skill in decision making and problem solving.Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.Skill in oral and written communication.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times and to recognize situations in which confidentiality is required.Ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.Ability to work on a fast paced sometimes stressful large financial operation.Ability to perform a high level of customer service and team work.Posting Date 02/28/2022 Closing Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to ApplicantsApplications are disqualified in the first level of review if they do not meet all Minimum Qualifications listed in this job posting. Come join our community!Physical DemandsThe work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, or walking.The employee occasionally lifts light objects.The work is typically performed in an office.Occasional evening and weekend hours might be required.Job DutiesResponsibility/DutyBalances grant activity to the general ledger and prepares related reports.Meets with project directors and/or granting agencies to provide information and to answer questions.Reviews expenses to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and granting agencies guidelines, and with college policies and procedures.Submits requests for reimbursements to program managers and granting agencies.Prepares Budget adjustments and journal entries for contracts and grants.Responsible for assuring grant accounts receivable billing is completed on a timely basis.Recovers accounts receivable on a timely basis.Prepares ad hoc reports when requested by management.Works with payroll on grant related compensation issues and pay redistributions.Ensures accuracy and compliance with grant requirements, college policy and procedures, state and federal regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.Extracts posted payroll data from the finance module and compares to payroll reports to ensure proper postingExtracts and analyzes accounting data to make corrections to various accountsPerforms related duties as assigned.Documents Needed to ApplyRequired DocumentsResumeCover LetterUnofficial Transcript 1Optional DocumentsJob Type: Full-timeWork Location: One location
