The Grants Accountant I performs a variety of accounting related tasks with a focus on timely, accurate maintenance of accounting data and systems. Job duties may vary depending on assignment, and may include general ledger/journal posting, maintenance, reconciliation, and analysis; posting payments; audits and verifications; account, program and/or grant reconciliations; and preparing a variety of reports.Responsibilities: Communicates effectively with both internal and external customersConducts reviews and audits of assigned programs, processes, or accounting functions (such as payroll, A/P, A/R, Grant, etc.).Analyzes and reviews balance sheet accountsMaintains documentation and resolves identified issues promptlyCoordinates external auditsServes as a liaison with internal customers and external auditors/customers for auditsResearches and prepares materials for auditsGathers and compiles data from a variety of sourcesPrepares, distributes, and maintains a variety of regular and ad-hoc reportsReviews and analyzes reports to identify errors, misstatements or unrecorded transactionsPosts to journals and general ledgerCodes entries, maintains fixed assets, and processes paymentsPerforms other duties as assigned.Requirements: 2 years of Accounting experience required, preferably in a healthcare environment.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to accurately complete data entry at relatively high speed, including 10-key by touch.Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.Working knowledge of GAAP and applicationProficient with Excel, and other MS software.Rewards: Job type: Regular Full TimeCompetitive Salary: $62,500-$75,000 annuallyExcellent Benefits (See below link)Retirement Plan with Generous Employer MatchPaid Time Off, Extended Sick Leave and Paid HolidaysMedical/Dental/Vision/FSA/Life InsuranceEmployee Discounts, Wellness Programs and Other BenefitsHealthcare plans for full families range from $47-$310 no matter how many dependents are on the plan.
