About the role

We are looking for an Indirect Tax Advisor to review the group’s indirect tax returns, maintain Vertex tax determination, support audits and appeals, research and analysis for business units and functional groups, develop and provide training and support to various functional groups and business units and various other tasks related to indirect tax compliance.

This role is a great opportunity to be immersed in a global corporation’s indirect tax environment with a wide variety of challenging tax issues. Reporting to the US Country Lead – GS Indirect Tax Services, Finance Services, you will be:

Review returns and payments related to property; sales & use; VAT; GST; QST; severance; excise, and other indirect tax returns related to US business units
Maintaining tax logic, responding to questions from business units and functional groups.
Evaluating and filing tax appeals; supporting audits, gathering of internal & external data working, as needed.
Developing and providing indirect tax training and support to product groups and functions
Identifying indirect tax issues, seeking solutions and taking responsibility for delivery of a total solution, and promoting the sharing of best practices as a proactive member of the Indirect Tax team
Administrative tasks as required for compliance activities (scanning, mailing, payment follow-up, etc.)

What you’ll bring

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
A degree or diploma in a Business discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, etc.)
6+ years of professional experience in a commercial organization
Ability to plan, organize, own, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments; meet deadlines in a short period of time
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, functions and formulas and power query, data analysis
Accounting, Financial, and Taxation knowledge
Possess strong orientation to detail, assuming ownership of projects, and organizing to deliver on deadlines
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Comfortable in a continuously changing work environment
