To be successful within Internal Audit, one will need to embrace and strongly demonstrate teamwork, accountability, excellence and integrity. Over time, the Staff Internal Auditor is anticipated to be a candidate for a position at a business unit, within a function, or within the corporate group. Future business leaders of Clarios will emerge from Internal Audit.
Primary Purpose:
This position will report directly to the US Internal Audit Manager and will play a key role in executing the risk-based audit plan for Clarios, primarily in the Americas & Corporate.
Primary Duties:
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the firm’s business and operations.
Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with appropriate levels of management to enable one to carry out his/her duties efficiently and effectively.
Will conduct, under supervision, risk-focused corporate, compliance, operational and financial audits of functional areas and business locations, so as to report significant issues related to processes and controls (assurance).
Will perform, under supervision, special projects executed at the specific request of management or the audit committee, so as to provide guidance on the design and/or implementation of governance, risk management, and control processes (advisory).
Will be expected to provide a prompt detailed status update of the work that he/she has been tasked to perform, and to meet set deadlines.
Assist in the drafting of audit reports based on commercially effective conclusions and findings; findings need to be clear and concise and should effectively influence management in the implementation of recommendations.
Assist in the preparation of effective executive summaries of completed projects and resulting findings and recommendations.
Assist in the follow-up of open audit issues and in partnering with the business to reach resolution.
Play an active role in the annual risk assessment for the key purpose of developing the following calendar-year internal audit plan.
Collaborate with team members and departmental leadership to improve Internal Audit’s processes and procedures.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business is required.
Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CFE desirable.
Minimum one year of internal audit experience or 3 years of business/financial experience.
Willing to travel 10-15% of the time. Almost all travel will be within one’s region, however, there is the remote possibility of international travel.
Basic understanding of the requirements of SOX and Public Corporate Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) regulations.
Basic knowledge of US GAAP and the Professional Auditing Standards set forth by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), as well as a basic understanding of the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) Auditing framework.
Experience in manufacturing industries desirable.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively partner with diverse groups of individuals.
Strong understanding of a collaborative auditing approach and the ability to cultivate and sustain productive professional relationships.
Ability to independently organize and execute work and to take ownership in completing assigned tasks; self-motivated with the desire to grow and be challenged professionally.
